Republicans Propose Bill to Protect Flying Public

In light of the threat to sue citizens who reported suspicious behavior by imams on a U.S. Airways flight, House Republicans have introduced a bill which would protect those who report their concerns from legal retaliation.

The Protecting Americans Fighting Terrorism Act of 2007 was introduced Thursday.

It is to be hoped this is a bill the Democrat majority will support.

While I certainly hope the Dems fully support this bill, I really can't wrap my brain around the fact that we (the U.S.) even need such a bill. Why are the conscientious pro-active citizens (which our government has called us all to be in this post-9/11 world) now put in the position of needing such protection?

It has become a ridiculously topsy-turvy time.

It is definitely an Alice in Wonderland world out there...sometimes I really worry about our country and the common sense we've lost amidst lawsuits and political correctness.
