Wow Wow WOW!

A pro-life woman executive. Works for me. It's going to be an exciting day and an interesting campaign.

I think this is a ticket that can win.

Update: Early reaction from Ed Morrissey: "This is change you can believe in."

This may be McCain's best strategic move yet- and doing it the day after the dem convention is even better. I say a McCain commerical last night during the speech (or immediately after) where McCain merely said congrats to his rival and acknowledged the historic moment and said tomorrow they go back at it, but for now congrats. That was pretty classy (and smart) and earned him back some points in my book.
I still hope Fred Thompson will have a role in his administration. Attorney General perhaps?

I agree, that ad was very classy and a smart move.

I would love to see Thompson have a role too.

Best wishes,
Laura

I think this is one of the best things McCain has done. It speaks very well of his managerial skill, his ability to read the electorate, and indeed his willingness to effect real change. I mean, if he gets elected and if his administration does well, there'd be a woman set to become president in eight years. Goodness.

Found some good video of her being interview on Glenn Beck - over at The Shelf! She is right on energy- hope that will keep McCain on the right track with that.
Also- Both our President and Vice Presidental candidates have children in the military. The Dems don't have- the other thing that they don't have- a clue.

No need to use incorrect facts. Biden's son is deploying to Iraq in September - he's in the reserves.

It's interesting, Anne, that three of the four candidates have children who are actively serving in the military --

Jau-
You are right of course- thanks for correcting me. I apologize for my error- and good on Biden's son for his service as well.

Hi Laura,

Yes it is interesting but I'm afraid I view that as a bit manipulative which is very cynical of me and I apologize! In other words, I'm sure it was a "plus" in Biden's and Palin's columns that they have boys who are soldiers.

"Biden" and "Palin" are both five letters long and have "i" and "n" too. I'm waiting for someone to make something of that. The crazy season is upon us. But at least it's not boring, right?!

I am so excited! I love her! What a great decision to choose her for V.P.

I'll echo your Wow Wow WOW!

Its heartening to see a woman plow through the sexist road blocs in life with her head down and pushing through the days - without fanfare, without pointing out that she is a *woman* accomplishing all this - but just *doing* it.

Dana, I agree.

I was mulling today that Palin has accomplished her career *herself* -- unlike Hillary, who rode her husband's coattails and whose "experience" consists of a little over a term as Senator. I find it hilarious some people are complaining that Palin doesn't have enough experience when Hillary and Obama have so little on their resumes.

Best wishes,
Laura

Laura, its no small feat to be a wife, parent of 5 children, govern a state, be the leader of the Alaska National Guard, etc. Her resume resonates with real people. She is not a Washington insider and in my book that means a lot.

I do think she has her homework cut out for her re national security, where she's lacking but of course McCain is all over that.

The most interesting part as this scenario unfolds will be to see how the feminists and Hillary's embittered followers react It will force some hands.

loophole, great link.
